New Updated Design - V3
Team 1EV RMaxx Rock Sliders give your Rivian R1T or R1S a confident step for everyday use and structural steel armor for the trail—without the oversized, add-on look. Proudly engineered and made in the USA.
EVOLVED FROM CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
The latest revision focuses on easier Rivian ownership and servicing while preserving the strength, integrated armor and clean design that made RMaxx Rock Sliders popular.
New skid-plate access ports allow a jack puck to reach the factory frame-rail jacking points. Rear access-point rubber covers are included.
The skid armor is now a two-piece design; the smaller rear plate can be removed when servicing the rear drive unit.
Continued testing and engineering refinements reduce weight versus earlier versions, helping with handling during installation.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT PRODUCT
Both give you a useful step into your Rivian, but they serve different purposes. A running board is a side step. An RMaxx Rock Slider adds structural protection and underbody skid armor for road hazards, off-roading and overlanding.
EVERYDAY ACCESS
Best when your main goal is an easier step for passengers and you do not need added underbody armor.
✓ Convenient entry step
✓ Clean, vehicle-specific fit
— Not an underbody rock-protection system
STEP + UNDERBODY ARMOR
Best when you want the same step function with structural protection along the vulnerable outer underside.
✓ Convenient entry step
✓ Integrated steel skid-plate armor
✓ Reinforced structure for sliding over obstacles
Important: RMaxx Running Boards and RMaxx Rock Sliders are separate assemblies. The armor cannot be added later to a running-board set. Read the full comparison ↗
ENGINEERED FOR THE RIVIAN PLATFORM
Rock sliders protect the vulnerable high-center, outer underside area when the truck passes over rocks or other obstacles. The RMaxx structure fastens directly to the Rivian frame, with steel armor panels replacing the factory plastic underbody covers. It is a functional slider, not simply a cosmetic side step.
The factory reinforced underbody shield covers the central underside. RMaxx armor helps protect the outer areas near the edges—approximately 12 inches beyond where the RUS stops, per the RMaxx design description.
The steel skid plate sits approximately 1 inch below the Rivian's underside, creating a sacrificial contact surface between an obstacle and the vehicle belly.
Team 1EV uses CAD and finite-element analysis (FEA) to develop a Rivian-specific design that combines structural load paths, sensible aerodynamics, an integrated step and a restrained appearance. There are no oversized logos or awkward exposed brackets to distract from the R1T or R1S body lines.
Construction
CNC-bent 1.75-inch OD alloy-steel tubing, laser-cut and welded mounting bracketry, steel tread plates, reinforced structural members and gusseting.
Finish
Durable, textured black powder coating with a purposeful, factory-style tread design.
Load rating
Rated for loads exceeding 1,760 lb, with multiple attachment points distributing force to the Rivian frame.

Slider weight: approximately 85 lb per side (Version 3).
DIY-FRIENDLY BOLT-ON DESIGN
The sliders attach to factory Rivian frame mounting points without cutting or drilling the frame. The existing plastic underbody covers are removed and replaced with protective steel armor. The assemblies are heavy, so a second person is recommended during installation.
Access Rivian's mounting locations by removing the factory plastic panels.
Fasten the integrated slider and armor assembly using the included hardware and installation instructions.
Version 3 factory-jack access ports and removable rear armor help simplify future service.

GOOD TO KNOW
Yes. Version 3 has access ports through the steel skid plate so a jack puck can reach the factory frame-rail jack point. Jack pucks are still required for this method, as with the factory configuration. The slider structure can also be used as a jacking surface as described in the installation guidance.
Yes. Rivian's Reinforced Underbody Shield (RUS) protects the central underside, while RMaxx Rock Sliders protect the more exposed outer sections. They are designed to work together.
The design keeps the sliders tucked within the tire's outer aerodynamic envelope and minimizes exposed mounting brackets. The engineering goal is minimal aerodynamic impact; actual range effects vary by speed, driving conditions and vehicle configuration.
The skid plate sits approximately 1 inch below the Rivian's underside. That small offset is intentional so an obstacle contacts the protective armor instead of the vehicle belly.
Yes. The kit bolts on without drilling or permanent frame modification and is designed for DIY installation with ordinary tools. Because the components are heavy, working with a helper is recommended.
No. RMaxx Rock Sliders and RMaxx Running Boards are different structural products. The slider armor is integrated into the dedicated Rock Slider assembly; the components are not interchangeable.
Choose your R1T or R1S fitment using the product options above. Each kit includes the complete driver- and passenger-side Rock Slider assemblies with mounting hardware.
