The Best Just Got Even Better!

      New & Improved Design

Team 1EV created the World's first and still best selling running boards for the Rivian platform and we're now very pleased to introduce a new and improved version!  What started as the most innovative and precision fitment bolt-on running boards for the Rivian R1T and R1S is once again a significant level above the rest of the market.  With a strong emphasis on balancing proper design language, function, fitment and quality, the RMaxx Running Boards bring the convenience of a running board together in a design that fits right and looks fantastic on the Rivian R1T and R1S.   Attention to detail is paramount and our goal was to make the steps look like they came from the factory.  True to this goal, we didn't add any logos or out-of-style design features.  The modest tread design looks right at home on the Rivian while providing sufficient step traction.  The boards are tucked in properly, meshing visually with the natural truck lines.

What's new with this lightweight aluminum version:

      • Running Board Frames and Tread Plates are made from lightweight aluminum alloy (not steel!).   This results in the lightest weight running boards on the market!  Besides being the lightest and best for maximizing range (best on market), aluminum does not rust even if you scratch off the powder coating!  Steel and Stainless Steel running boards weigh twice as much.
      • Tread plates are welded on, not bolted on.   This makes installation much faster and easier, eliminating all the tread plate bolts.  The tread plates look very clean and streamlined, no more bolt heads!
      • Brackets are made from stainless steel.  To match the 'rust proof' aluminum frames and tread plates, we upgraded the brackets to 300-series stainless steel as well, to make sure the 'full package' is sure to never rust, no matter what!
      • We've eliminated the frame tube 'end caps'.  Now the outer frame tube ends terminate smoothly into the backside tube in a hidden weld joint resulting in an even cleaner more OEM-look.
      • Installation is that much easier, thanks to the lightweight design and elimination of all the tread plate bolts and assembly.

Running Boards bolt-on directly to the Rivian frame.  To access the frame, the factory plastic covers must be removed.  Several options exist:

        1. Remove the plastic covers and leave them off (cheap and easy)
        2. Cut bracket clearance holes (4") through the plastic covers and leave the covers on.  Requires ordering the add-on hole saw and cutting holes using our templates (low cost option to keep factory plastic covers installed, but does require cutting) - preview instructions HERE.
        3. Remove the factory plastic covers and replace with our bolt-on aluminum aero plate covers, which feature proper clearance holes for brackets, and proper access ports for jack pucks (Recommended option).

        Frequently Asked Questions

        • Are these compatible with Rivian's RUS protection ?  Yes.  The Rivian RUS protects the center underside of the Rivian -- RUS stops about 12" inboard from the edge of the Rivian, with plenty of clearance to our brackets.
        • Do These Impact Range? No, not really. Our Running Boards were very carefully designed for minimal aero impact - our design is highly aerodynamic and stays “inside” the outer tire aero surface.  Our brackets do not hang down like other inferior products and we give up almost zero ground clearance.  The aluminum running boards weight half as much as steel counterparts, further reducing impact on range!  Rest assured, we've done everything to minimize range impact.
        • How Much Load Will They Support? RMaxx Running Boards are rated to support as many people as you can fit on the step surface!  The brackets feature extensive frame fastener points and extra gusseted structure weldments for the ultimate strength - worry not about strength.
        • Will I Lose Ground Clearance?  RMaxx Running Boards feature low-profile brackets and give up zero ground clearance!
        • Can I Install At Home? Yes, installation is straight forward, bolt-on design and DIY friendly.  No extra parts or specialty tools are required.   No permanent modifications to the truck frame structure are required.
        • I have the original RMaxx steel running boards, can I upgrade to these? Yes, these aluminum running boards bolt on to the same points on the vehicle and will pass through the same holes in aero panels.
        • Are Jack Points Still Accessible?Running Board brackets are clearanced for all Jack Pucks and to allow Rivian Service to lift the vehicle without issue.    There is no reason to remove RMaxx running boards for Rivian Service.
        • What is the difference between Running Boards and Rock Sliders?Listen up, there is a lot of confusion / mislabeling by competitors using the terms interchangeably, do not be fooled or mistaken!  Truth is, Running Boards are simply side steps -- that is all; these do not protect the underside of your Rivian.   Rock Sliders, are an entirely different product featuring a full structural frame member which has been carefully fortified to support extreme loads and 'rock sliding' on the integrated underbody armor skids plates, while also providing a side step function on topside tread plate steps.  Learn more HERE. Or, click HERE to see our Rock Slider products.
