The engineers at Team 1EV have developed a custom designed Rivian R1S / R1T vehicle specific NIJ IIIA / HG2 spec ballistics protection package.  The package offers door and b-pillar protection using proprietary inner panel shields designed in CAD and CNC cut for precision coverage and fitment inside each door and body frame.   The design has been carefully optimized to ensure no interference with sensors, wiring, door latches, window frames and associated mechanisms, all while providing full protection over these areas on the door.  All door and window opening functionality is retained.   Only negligible weight is added to the vehicle thanks to the use of lightweight yet proper NIJ certified bulletproof materials.  After installation the protection is not detectable and has no impact on range or vehicle functionality.
