Ever notice how most every Rivian ends up with scratches across the top of the tailgate? Loading and unloading coolers, toolboxes, luggage, bikes, camping gear, groceries, sports equipment, and just about anything else eventually leaves its mark. We created our Tailgate Paint Protection Film (PPF) Kit to solve this very problem, so you can use your truck the way it was meant to be used without worrying about damaging the paint.

Our DIY Paint Protection Film (PPF) Tailgate Kit for the Rivian R1T is precision CNC-cut specifically for the factory tailgate, providing a perfect fit and maximum protection where your truck needs it most. Made from premium automotive-grade paint protection film, it creates a nearly invisible barrier that helps prevent scratches, scuffs, chips, and everyday wear caused by cargo sliding across the tailgate. Whether you're hauling work equipment during the week or outdoor gear on the weekend, this durable PPF keeps your Rivian looking like new.

Each DIY kit includes the pre-cut PPF film, two spray bottles, and two installation squeegees. Installation is straightforward: after thoroughly washing the vehicle and the tailgate surface, generously spray both sides of the film and the paint with a soapy water solution (the included "slip" solution), position the film on the wet surface, and carefully squeegee the water from the center outward to the edges. If necessary, simply lift and re-wet the film to reposition it until perfectly aligned. To help secure the edges, the second spray bottle (the "stick" bottle) can be filled with a mixture of 30% isopropyl alcohol and 70% water, allowing the film to lock into place as you complete the installation. With a little patience, anyone can achieve professional-looking results at home.
