Rivian R2 reservation holders are reporting that their configuration invite windows have shrunk significantly, with some estimates dropping from up to eight weeks down to just one or two. While Rivian has not officially confirmed an accelerated timeline, this widespread shift allows reservees to select their options and place official orders much sooner than expected.

Currently, these early invites are limited to the high-end Performance model with the Launch Package, as cheaper Premium and Standard trims won't arrive until later. The sudden timeline shift likely points to a more confident production ramp-up at Rivian's factory, though some community members speculate it could also be due to buyers delaying their orders to wait for future features like upgraded autonomy hardware.
