Rivian has confirmed specific availability timelines for several eagerly anticipated R2 model configurations. The Coastal Cloud Signature interior and the Forest Green exterior paint option will both become available later in August, while the Borealis exterior color remains scheduled for a September release. All three options will be eligible for inclusion with the initial Launch Package.

These additions expand customization for buyers who were previously restricted to the Black Crater interior since customer deliveries began. Notably, the later September arrival for Borealis aligns with Rivian’s previous rollout strategy for the R1 series, where it was initially offered as a limited-run color.

Existing reservation and order holders do not need to cancel or start their orders over to secure these upcoming options. Customers can simply update their configurations now in the system, and Rivian will reach out directly when their specific build is scheduled for production.
