    Polestar 2 SnapPlate Instruction Guide

    Polestar 2 SnapPlate Installation Guide

Installation and adjustment instructions for the SnapPlate front license plate mount for the 2020–2026 Polestar 2.

    Installation

    Step 1 — Optional

    Choose Your Plate Height

SnapPlate ships with the license plate mount in the high position by default. If you prefer the center or low position, complete the Plate Height Adjustment instructions below before continuing.

    Step 2

    Install Your License Plate

Attach your license plate to SnapPlate using four of the included black or silver Torx security screws.

    Step 3

    Open the SnapPlate

Press and hold the right button to rotate the mounting latches into the open position.

    Step 4

    Position SnapPlate on the Grille

Insert SnapPlate into the center-top of the Polestar 2 grille, then release the right button.

    Step 5

    Lock SnapPlate in Place

Press the left button to rotate the mounting latches into the closed position.

Check the Fit If the button is too difficult to fully close or SnapPlate feels loose on the grille, do not force it. Follow the Grille Depth Adjustment instructions below to fine-tune the fit.
    Step 6

    Confirm the Mount Is Secure

Check that the left button sits flush with the SnapPlate body. This confirms that the mounting latches are fully closed.

    Step 7 — Optional

    Install the Anti-Theft Security Screw

For additional security, install the included black anti-theft security screw in the opening near the left button.

Security Screw Tip If the security screw does not reach, check that the mounting latches are completely closed before attempting to tighten it.
    Step 8

    Remove Before Automatic Car Washes

Remove SnapPlate before entering an automated car wash. Most touchless washes may be fine, but removing SnapPlate beforehand is recommended.

    Plate Height Adjustment

The Polestar 2 SnapPlate can be configured in three different license plate positions: High, Center, or Low. SnapPlate ships in the high position by default.

    Step 1

    Remove the Plate Mount

Remove the two screws securing the license plate mount to the SnapPlate body.

    High Position

With the SnapPlate logo facing upward, position the plate mount with the bottom of the SnapPlate body and reinstall the two screws.

    Center Position

With the SnapPlate logo facing upward, align the middle mounting holes with the top of the SnapPlate base and reinstall the screws.

    Low Position

With the SnapPlate logo facing upward, align the top holes of the plate mount with the top holes in the SnapPlate base and reinstall the screws.

    Final Step

    Install Your License Plate

If it is not already installed, attach your license plate using four of the included black or silver security screws.

    Grille Depth Adjustment

If SnapPlate is too tight or too loose on your Polestar 2 grille, the mounting latches can be adjusted to provide the proper fit.

    Step 1

    Prepare the T10 Driver

Remove the T10/T25 bit from the included screwdriver handle and reinstall it with the smaller T10 bit facing outward.

    Step 2

    Locate the Adjustment Screws

Locate the T10 Torx screw in the center of each rotating latch. Adjust both latches equally to maintain an even fit.

    Step 3 — Loosen Fit

    Increase Latch Depth

Turn each adjustment screw counterclockwise 1/2 turn. Each 1/2-turn adjustment loosens the latch by approximately 0.25 mm. Pull each latch outward with your fingers to make sure it has extended, then test the fit on the grille.

Important — Maximum Adjustment Repeat the loosening adjustment no more than four times, for a maximum of two full turns. Do not loosen the adjustment beyond two full turns. Excessive adjustment could cause SnapPlate to become stuck in the grille and make removal difficult. Contact EV Sportline for assistance before proceeding further.
    Step 4 — Tighten Fit

    Decrease Latch Depth

Turn each adjustment screw clockwise 1/2 turn. Each 1/2-turn adjustment tightens the latch by approximately 0.25 mm. Test the fit on the grille and repeat in small increments as necessary.
