Rivian is opening a new AI and autonomous driving engineering hub in London to tap into the UK’s talent pool in artificial intelligence. The new site will complement Rivian’s Palo Alto team. The Rivian Autonomy Platform will continue to evolve to meet a growing customer demand for confidence-inspiring and time-restoring-autonomous driving features.

The London team will help build Rivian’s “Large Driving Model” to unlocking unparalleled understanding of complex driving scenarios. James Philbin, Rivian’s VP of Autonomy & AI, expects this will speed up Rivian’s plans to be the most technologically advanced and appealing on the road. Rivian plans to host an “AI & Autonomy Day” later this year to showcase its advancements.
