After unveiling the Rivian R1 Refresh, Rivian plans on upgrading existing R1S and R1T software with the new 2024.19 software update.

This introduces a new user interface with a unique 3D cel-shading style which brings dynamic animations and stunning visuals. This update will also include apps and access to more vehicle functions that is compatible with existing hardware.

Some new features include RGB lighting controls, blind spot cameras, tri-zone climate control, and Launch Mode for Quad-Motor vehicles, Dolby Atmos support, better drive assistance, and phone tethering. The main highlight of the update are improved suspension software.
